Welcome!
Hey there, I'm Molly!
I'm a young female artist and designer based in Niwot, Colorado. I specialize in graphic design, painting, photography, and floral design. I started selling my art in 2020 at the age of 13, but I've had a passion for art since I started taking art classes at the age of four. My business officially began with my Etsy shop, PocketOfPoppies, where I sold paintings, cards, and stickers. Since then, I have expanded my products and services and I have started taking custom orders. Now, you can find my work at our family's "Flower House", my Etsy Shop, MollySlupikCreative, and at local shops and markets.
On this site, you'll find my portfolios, updates on current projects, contact information, as well as a bit of information about my inspiration.
My passion for art spans multiple different mediums including graphic design, painting, floral design and photography. You can see examples of my work in my portfolio pages.
As a graphic designer, I am certified in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. I am enrolled in multiple graphic design classes at the Career Elevation and Technology Center where I am constantly learning new software, and where I hope to earn certifications in several other Adobe programs. Additionally, I will be attending Colorado State University in the fall where I plan to continue studying graphic design. I have experience in logos, branding, and digital illustration. To see examples of my work, visit the graphic design page.
Through my paintings, I aim to express my emotions in a beautiful way and build stronger connections with my community. Most of my work includes two elements that I find most beautiful in this world: women and flowers. First, I take inspiration from women and girls across the globe. Far too often, I hear of stories in which women are told what they can’t or shouldn’t do. My paintings are meant to reflect my emotions in regards to these stories through the facial expressions of the women I paint. I strive to capture the fear, the pain, and the exhaustion that I see in the faces of other women. My paintings also include flowers of various types. I find inspiration for these in my family’s flower farm. The different types of flowers in my paintings reflect the varieties that are currently in bloom in our fields. This connection helps me to create a timeline in my artwork, as I can easily remember what event inspired the piece by looking at the flowers I included. I combine my emotions and reactions to certain events with beautiful things—like flowers—to accentuate the natural beauty of my subject that is hidden behind negativity. Additionally, our flower farm is run by a group of women and powered by our connection with the community. To see my paintings, visit the painting page.
As for photography, I enjoy capturing the beautiful landscape I am surrounded by here in Colorado. Most of my photos are of flowers, mountains, or something in between, however portrait and family photography also holds a special place in my heart. To see more, visit the photography page.
I also love floral design. While I still have a long way to go, I love making vase arrangements and hand tied bouquets. Visit the floral design page to see more of my work. Also, visit www.slupikminifarm.com to see more about our cut-flower business.
