Welcome!

Hey there, I'm Molly.

I'm a young female artist and designer based in northern Colorado. I specialize in graphic design, painting, photography, and floral design. I started selling my art in 2020 at the age of 13, but I've had a passion for art since I started taking art classes at the age of four. My business officially began with my Etsy shop, PocketOfPoppies, where I sold paintings, cards, and stickers. Since then, I have expanded my products and skillsets. Now, you can find my work at our family's "Flower House," my Etsy shop, MollySlupikCreative, and at local shops and markets.

On this site, you'll find my portfolios, updates on current projects, contact information, as well as a bit of information about my inspiration.

Finding Inpsiration

Through my paintings, I aim to express my emotions in a beautiful way and build stronger connections with my community. Most of my work includes the elements that I find most beautiful in this world: women, flowers, and the great outdoors.

First, I take inspiration from women and girls across the globe. Far too often, I hear of stories in which women are told what they can’t or shouldn’t do. My paintings are meant to reflect my emotions in regards to these stories through the facial expressions of the women I paint. I strive to capture the fear, the pain, and the exhaustion that I see in the faces of other women.

My paintings also include flowers of various types. I find inspiration for these in my family’s flower farm. The different types of flowers in my paintings reflect the varieties that are currently in bloom in our fields. This connection helps me to create a timeline in my artwork, as I can easily remember what event inspired the piece by looking at the flowers I included. I combine my emotions and reactions to certain events with beautiful things—like flowers—to accentuate the natural beauty of my subject that is hidden behind negativity. Additionally, our flower farm is run by a group of women and powered by our connection with the community.

Living in Colorado has given me the greatest inspiration of all. The abundance of views, plants, and animals offer endless subject matters and color palettes. The mountain views paired with the beautiful climate makes the perfect environment to immerse myself in as I create.

Graphic Design

As a graphic designer, I am certified in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and I am proficient in Adobe Indesign and After Effects. I am currently studying graphic design at Colorado State University to learn new skills and software, stay up-to-date with design trends and to hone my design skills.

I work with clients to develop unique and intriguing visual identities for both new and established brands Design assets include, but are not limited to, logos, color palettes, typography styling, icons, patterns, imagery, and social media graphics.

In addition to logo and brand design, I also have experience in digital illustration, and motion graphic design.

I have been painting since I was 4 years old and I have slowly been developing my personal style over the years. I work in both watercolor and acrylic, however my focus is mainly acrylic.

In my artworks, I always like to include a 3D or multimedia element. Since I draw a lot of my inspiration from flowers, I have started using pressed flowers, dried flowers, and paper flowers. I also like to create collages with book pages and magazine cutouts to create a base for my paintings.

My paintings are available to purchase, along with a few prints in my store.

Photography

As for photography, my goal is simply to capture beautiful things.

Living in Colorado, I am constantly surrounded by a awe-inspiring views. In my outdoor adventures, I aim to photograph everything, from the largest mountains to the tiniest leaves on the trees.

I work with clients to capture individual essence through portrait, family, branding, and event photography.

I also enjoy macro photography and find my subjects within our family's flower fields.

Floral design is more of a hobby, but I work with Slupik MiniFarm to create stunning floral arrangements, wreaths, corsages, and more. Working with local flowers allows me to create unique, seasonal arrangements.

I do not sell my floral designs independently. If you wish to purchase arragemnets, please visit www.slupikminifarm.com or email info@slupikminifarm.com.
